Nice cover but has no inside lining. I removed the lining from the 9.7 Apple case and glued it into the case. I used Gorilla spray glue and it now provides complete protection for the back of my valuable delicate device. I really like the texture of the case and it matches the smart keyboard.

That provides no protection, its too thin. Might as well not use one. When you set the iPad down, set it on the Smart Keyboard, back up. And you will be golden.

I must have newer versions. My Khomo cases all wrap completely around the edges of my iPad. No corner spaces like the one shown in this video. Very nice fit and finish!

I like the clear ESR case on eBay. Transitions nicely into Smart Keyboard on bottom and is clear to see the beauty of iPad in all its glory. Also has great button accents!

Well, I went ahead and ordered one. I wasn't aware there wasn't an Apple made case that protects the front and back, I owned the 9.7 inch iPad Pro and because I didn't have front and back protection, I ended up cracking my front screen. So this time I'm going to take a chance and order this, and see how it works out? I'm supposed to receive it from Amazon on Wednesday, August 2, I'll edit my comment after I receive it and tried out for a couple days?
The gap is to accommodate the extra space needed when the keyboard is folded behind to use in 'tablet mode'. Just got mine today. Its exactly what I wanted. No place for pencil though. That version was too thick and heavy.
Is it too thick to reduce the magnetic force to hold the smart keyboard when open it all the way to the back to use as tablet mode?
